Each year our local United Way diligently works to raise money to help community agencies provide assistance in Mecosta and Osceola County. These agencies rely on United Way funding to provide desperately needed funds to their clients. Whether it’s one of the 50,000 meals delivered to home bound seniors, providing assistance to homeless youth, or helping low income homeowners with critical home repairs, your generosity impacts our neighbors. We take our limited and precious dollars and bring together the best ideas from across Mecosta and Osceola Counties and distribute those dollars to have the biggest impact.
For the 2019 Community Campaign we are looking to raise $350,000 across our two counties.
Yes, that’s a lot of money.
How do we get there? It’s not easy, but that’s ok. We will give countless presentations about the United Way and the impact our Community Campaign has on our neighbors. We will work with dozens of employers to offer their staff the opportunity for payroll deduction donations. We will help support the numerous bake sales, chili cook-offs, and causal Fridays, all in the name of giving. When 43% of our neighbors struggle to meet their basic needs, we will do everything we can to meet our goal of $350,000.
It's more than a phrase
Living United is a way of live, not just a phrase that we say. Living in our communities are those who go to work everyday, and struggle to get by. Living United is taking the time to advocate for policy change to help those who don’t have a voice at the table. Living United is not only helping your local charity through your financial donations, but by also giving your time and talents to those charities. Living United is checking on your neighbor when our Michigan weather isn’t terribly friendly and helping out with what you can.
